Scholarship Application

How Our Application Works:

Applications will re-open fall of 2026.

Who Can Apply?

1

GRBSF supports children and young adults who face financial barriers to participation in approved dance, music, theater, performing arts, martial arts, and related programs. Each application cycle may include specific age, location, provider, or documentation requirements.

Applicants should be enrolled in, or planning to enroll in, an eligible program and should demonstrate financial need, commitment, and the expected benefit of continued participation. Meeting the eligibility requirements does not guarantee an award.

What May a Scholarship Cover?

2

Depending on the application cycle and available funding, approved expenses may include tuition, workshops, conventions, competitions, performances, costumes, uniforms, equipment, instruments, or other program-related costs approved by GRBSF.

How Are Decisions Made?

Authorized reviewers evaluate eligible applications using the criteria published for that cycle. Considerations may include financial need, eligibility, commitment, expected benefit, cost reasonableness, program priorities, and available funding. Conflicts of interest are addressed through GRBSF's internal review process, and final awards are approved under Board authority.

Award amounts and the number of recipients depend on available charitable funds. Scholarship decisions are final, although GRBSF may correct a clerical or material factual error brought to its attention.

How are the Scholarships Paid?

4

Scholarships are ordinarily paid directly to the approved studio, school, instructor, or program on the recipient's behalf. Funds are not ordinarily paid to the student or family and may be used only for the approved student, provider, purpose, period, and amount.

GRBSF may confirm enrollment, attendance, account application, or continued eligibility with the family or provider. An award may be reduced, paused, changed, or ended if eligibility changes, information is materially inaccurate, funds are unavailable, the student withdraws, the provider cannot deliver the approved service, or funds cannot be used for their approved purpose.

Unused scholarship funds remain charitable assets of GRBSF and may be used for another eligible student or mission-consistent purpose, subject to any legally accepted restriction.

When is the Application Deadline?

5

Applications are expected to reopen in fall 2026. Current deadlines, award timelines, eligibility requirements, and available funding will be posted on this page when each application cycle opens.

A second fundraiser is optional and requires advance GRBSF approval, available funding, and sufficient organizational capacity. A second fundraiser does not guarantee an additional scholarship round.

How Does an Organization Participate?

6

Studios, schools, instructors, and community organizations may apply to participate in GRBSF programs. A participating organization is a program partner and does not receive corporate membership, ownership, voting, or governance rights.

Participation may include an annual fee, one approved annual fundraiser, privacy and brand requirements, scholarship-accounting responsibilities, and other current program standards. A second fundraiser is optional and requires advance GRBSF approval, available funding, and sufficient organizational capacity. Current participation requirements are provided during application or renewal.
